Bucket List
I’m going to be realistic – I don’t think I’ll ever go Cage diving with white sharks nor will I go skydiving, or climb the Everest. Let’s face it – I’m not an extreme adventurer, but rather a modern flashpacker that loves food, wine, traveling and anything related to these three. Simple.
- Take a picture with a pilot in the flight cabin
- Walk a labyrinth
- Stomp grapes to make wine
- Attend (and survive) the KaZantip (techno festival in Ukraine)
- Take the Trans-Siberian or Trans-Mongolian Train
- Go Glacier Hiking (read about it here)
- Attend the annual Ascot horserace in the UK (read about it here)
- Visit Patagonia (Read about Chile here and read about Argentina there)
- Cuddle a Koala
- Ride the Steepest Rack Railway in the World (Switzerland)
- Walk the Camino de Santiago (Spain)
- Take a Helicopter Ride (read about it here)
- Take a Thai cooking course
- Go Scuba diving in: The Blue Hole, Belize, Thailand, Indonesia, Great Barrier Reef, Australia, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil (read about it here) and the Egyptian Red Sea
- Assist the Full Moon Party in Thailand
- Soak in water in the Songkran Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand
- Learn french (Rosetta Stone Level 1 (Done!), 2 (In Progress), 3, 4, 5)
- See the Northern Lights
- Sail around Cape Horn
- Learn how to pour cider (and maybe even how to make it!)
- Take a Sailing Course (read about it here)
- Take Snowboarding Lessons (read about it here)
- Visit the Ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia
- See the All Blacks play live (I can’t believe I missed the rugby period when I went to NZ)
- Watch a live baseball game
- Prepare home-made PacharĂ¡n
- See Stonehedge, at the solstice open access in june
- Take a Trip in a Caravan (maybe a trip to a music festival)
- Climb the Great Wall of China
This list will be continuously updated with new goals and dreams, and hopefully some completions!
Which are your travel goals? Have you already done any of these on the list? I would happy to get some tips and recommendations – Please e-mail me!

i really want to see the northern lights. fairbanks, alaska is only 25 hours aways from my home, in california. but it’s too dangerous to drive…which would have been an amazing adventure in itself. one day i will fly up there though.
i’ve been to lots of live baseball games and they are so fun. totally different from what’s on tv. the hot dogs are the best, and beer too :)

Great list! Like the stomping grapes – wonder how many places still do that!
I love the scuba diving item! I’d like to scuba dive all the places you listed, plus in Cambodia and the Cayman Islands. Night diving also sounds cool, but scary
Yes, places still do stomp grapes to make wine. Hermann wine trail in Missouri is host to many wineries. One of the most popular is Stone Hill, who has a grape stomp once a year!
What an awesome list. I think the caravan idea might be my favorite. How much fun would it be traveling around with a bunch of people? Especially when there is a music fest involved!
