About Me and this Blog
Hi! My name is Katharina.
100 Miles Highway is where I share the places I’ve been, but overall, my personal view and experience of living as an expatriate and slowly travelling the World.
I studied a double degree in International Business in Spain and Germany and am fluent in Spanish, German and English. I’ve worked in finance and business development at a global commodities trader in Switzerland and London and project managed the 15th World Swimming Championship Village in Barcelona.
Now, I am a project manager at the Investor Communications division of a creative agency based in London. I left home 11 years ago and can’t get enough of this adventure. I love being an expat for many reasons: the amazing people I meet across the Globe, the ability to immerse in the culture of the country I live in, the new language or expressions I learn and having a routine without losing the excitement of what next.
I’m active, curious and spontaneous. When I’m not on the road for work, I like to spend my weekends exploring London with my camera. I love the city’s architecture and easily get lost for hours walking its neighbourhoods. I also enjoy reading a book in the sun, trying out new gastropubs and starting the morning with a good coffee.
100 Miles Highway is a a personal blog that combines my view on expatriate life and travel through my personal writing and photography. I hope that my blog inspires others to travel and maybe even consider a new adventure abroad.
And now the legal bit.
All pictures on this blog are copyright of 100 Miles Highway and taken by me (unless otherwise noted). I use my Fujifilm FinePix S9600 and Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W290 most of the time, and occasionally post photos taken from my iPhone or scanned pictures of my Lomo Diana F+. Please ask for permission before using and/or distributing these photos and always provide a link and citation back to the image.
This blog is my hobby, not my business. I do not make a living out of it. This blog is ad-free. I am happy to review relevant products by invitation, but will make my own mind up on whether to recommend them or not. I will always let my readers know if I got a free sample, meal or stay at the end of the post. Being this a non-commercial site, my integrity comes first.
